Question by a: Positives and negatives from using humidifiers and dehumidifiers?

My dad wants a dehumidifier,I totally disagree with him. I get sore throats often and I think the dehumidifier would make it worse. I want a humidifier I think that would be much more beneficial. I need positives and negatives for both.
