Question by Joey: Do cool mist humidifiers work in cold temperatures?

Earlier I went to the store to replace a broken humidifier. They had a very nice deal on a digital cool-mist humidifier, so I decided to get that one.

I’ve had it home for about three hours now, and it does appear to be working, but very slowly. It seems to be using alot less water than my old, warm mist humidifier.

Are the cool-mist ones supposed to use less water? If not, is the cold (15-25 degree ferenheight) weather the cause of the problem?

Yes they do work but if you have hard water in your area, it may not work as effectively. Use distilled water and you will get more of a mist.

Keep in mind that the mist if very fine and not white like steam so may not be as visible.

The cold weather shouldn’t be a problem unless you are using this in a place that is as cold as the outdoors. Then obviously you are going to have problems because cold water will freeze.

If used indoors it will work.
